Spinal Manipulative Therapy
We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before.
This technique is most often associated with chiropractic adjusting. You will hear an "audible" or pop during this type of adjustment. After identifying which spinal bones have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is administered to free up "stuck" joints.
Thompson Terminal Point technique is a system of analysis and a special table that reduces the amount of energy needed to adjust your spine.
Addresses the mechanical problems with all extremities from hands to feet & shoulders to knees. Treatment of the whole body requires synchronicity between the nervous system and the mechanical control system of the kinetic chain. Misalignments (Subluxations) of any joint will have both neurological and mechanical components.
The Activator instrument is a hand held device that delivers a consistent low force adjustment. It is often used for those patients that do not do well with conventional manual adjusting techniques.
Is a method of normalizing the relationship between the foundation of the spine and the top of the spine. It is this relationship & how these two bones get along with one another that has been proven to be so important in the normal functioning of the brain and spinal cord.
Active Release Techniques®
(ART®) - is widely used by professional and amateur athletes for injury care and performance enhancement. It is a hands-on technique that speeds and improves recovery from sports, auto, on-the-job and repetitive stress injuries.
Graston Technique® - is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Muscle Energy Work
Is used to relax and stretch muscles or fascia. It will mobilize joints & facilitate tissue healing.
Therapeutic massage is a great compliment to chiropractic care. Together, chiropractic and massage facilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment and ensuring a free flow of nerve impulses and circulation of fluids. Massage therapy is offered here at Petrilli Chiropractic, and is covered by some insurance plans as well as on the job injury and auto accident claims.
Lifestyle and Nutritional Advice
We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each of our patients is a whole person, and help them reach true health and wellness is a collaborate effort between our professionals and our patients.
This incorporates both passive (stretching) and active exercise. Stretching helps reduce muscle tension and increases range of motion. It develops body awareness and prevents muscle strain during active rehab. Active exercise helps strengthen the muscles which support the spine and promotes posture alignment. Spinal rehabilitation is very important for helping patients regain full function of the neck and back.
